Applewood Data Services Ltd are structured cabling specicalists in all types of cabling systems. These include telecommunications wiring, fibre optics for network and CCTV with Fusion splicing and full OTDR service for both multimode and single mode fibre optics.

We have been installing copper cabling systems back from the days of Type 1, 10 baseT thin net, Fat ethernet ,Cat 3, and Cat 4. We install, test and commision Category 5e, Category 6 and Category 6a to a very high standard.

Below are samples of our previous installations. This network system shown is Category 6 LSZH tested to 250MHz. This site was handed over with a full testing package and a 20 year warranty for Gleeson Homes.

What should I look for in an installation company?

Pedigree: Look for an installer with a strong client base, they may offer you pilot sites and customer references.

Surveys: These are very important, a good installer like Applewood Data Services Ltd will be looking to look after your network for many years and this should be apparent when designing a network before the installation process begins.

Product: Choose your product wisely. There are many cabling systems imported from the far east into the UK market place. These systems have a place and do meet the criteria but after time with wear and tear the cheaper products are exposed.

Test results and certification: This is crucial to making sure your cabling has been installed correctly and within the parameters it was designed for. In the case of Category 6, it needs enough headroom to be comfortably tested at 250MHz.
