Lucchini UK Manchester had requirements to expand their Trafford Park premises with the addition of an office/factory unit across the main road from its existing manufacturing factory. After choosing and contacting Applewood Data Services Ltd a list of requirements were put forward some listed below and solutions were required.

• After discussions and surveys, Applewood Data Services Ltd designed the project strategy working with Lucchini’s IT administrators to migrate our new proposals seamlessly and on time.

 Telephone lines

BT Liaison was administered on behalf of Lucchini through BT wholesale. Lines were ordered and tariffs administered, with per second billing and low cost call routing providing savings on all local mobile and international dialling.

Telephone system with expansion capabilities

 The LDK 20 a very powerful small business telephone system from LG incorporating the requirement for conference calling, caller ID voicemail and PA integration for the factory floor was installed, programmed and commissioned with staff training administered

 Structured cabling

 A category 5e structured cabling system was installed in both the offices and factory floor with a 25 year manufactures installer warranty supplied

 Network hardware and connectivity peripherals

 Switches and other connectivity equipment supplied and installed

 Network link to weighbridge

 As no ducting or cable route of any kind available a secure wireless 54 Mbps RF bridge link was preconfigured and installed allowing the cargo information of Lucchini’s freight to be instantly logged on the network. This low cost solution provides more than enough bandwidth with out the need for unnecessary expense

Network link to the existing network in the existing building

BT lease line network costs to the new unit were approximately £6k per annum.

As Geodesy (formally Laser-Byte Europe) official installers Applewood Data Services Ltd supplied and installed Lucchini UK with a secure 100Mbps full duplex laser link configured on the network for less than a one half of one years predicted lease line cost. No reoccurring annual costs. Connectivity on this level means no separate broadband connection is required providing further savings this link over 5 years projected saving £30K in dead revenue

Maintenance  

Affordable value maintenance packages have been administered and introduced for all of the above products and installations.
